Financial Aid

For federal and state "need based" financial aid, students must either be U.S. citizens or on a permanent resident visa, or an otherwise eligible non-citizen. Students must be attending an accredited college or university, demonstrate financial need, provide copies of their previous year's tax returns (both federal and state), and other forms as needed to comply with requirements for the various programs.
The "need" eligibility is determined through processing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), in combination with established budgets filed with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Financial aid sought beyond the need determination may be provided through non-need based types of assistance up to the amount of the budget.
Eligible students who are enrolled full time (minimum of 16 hours per Trimester) and are making satisfactory progress are entitled to apply for all types of financial aid. Students who are enrolled less than full time are eligible for Financial Aid on a limited basis.
